FAQ
Q. When should a bride get her Mehendi done? A.
She should get her mehendi done 48 hours before the marriage. If the marriage is on Saturday she should get it done on Thursday.
I prefer getting her Mehendi before the Mehendi party, leaving her free to socialise
during the party with friends + family
Q. How long should she leave the Mehendi on her hands / feet ? A.
About 5 hours.
Q. How do you get the mehendi off? A. Scrape it off with a blunt
knife, do not rub your hands as it may leave some color on the vacant spaces, not letting the design to show out. Also do
not wet your hands or wash them untill next day morning, it takes about 24 hours to get the real red color after getting
the mehendi off.
Q. Is th back side of the hand important for Mehendi? A. If you
watch marriage movies / pictures, it is the back side of the hand of the bride and even the guests that is seen more often
then the front side. So I think it should not be negelected.
Q. What do you add in to the mehendi paste? A. Lemon juice and
herbal oils.
Q. Any other ways to get an extra red color? A. Carefully
take the heat of clove smoke ( Leave some cloves on a hot pan ) after scraping the mehendi off & apply Vicks / Tiger
balm.
Q Where do I get the Mehendi designs ? A. I have many print outs,
